Laparoscopic Fertility Treatment

Laparoscopic Fertility Treatment

Laparoscopic treatment for various pathologic pelvic conditions is generally an outpatient surgical procedure performed under general anesthesia. Laparoscopy involves insertion of a narrow telescope-like instrument through a small incision in the navel. Then one or two other small incisions are utilized for placement of other surgical instruments.

Laparoscopy may be performed as treatment for tubal blockages, such as hydrosalpinx, endometriosis, pelvic adhesions, ovarian cysts, ectopic pregnancy or uterine fibroids.
